We got back from Charleston about two weeks ago, but I am still having withdrawals!  It baffles me that this was the FIRST time I've ever been there (we are going back again next month!) and I am just obsessed.  It felt a lot like Louisville in the way that everyone somehow knows each other (the random connections and friends we saw while we were there were nuts!) but it's just older, and more southern, and on the ocean! Can you tell I am ready to move!?

When Amanda and Jason came to us with the idea of doing a destination wedding in Charleston, Whitney and I COULD NOT have been more excited!  We rented a precious house on VRBO that I was able to work out of, which happened to be right in downtown Charleston.  The location was perfect and allowed us to experience every part of the city.  I will be posting my favorite spots in Charleston next week, for those of you who may be traveling there and looking for recommendations!

I took way too many photos on this trip- more than anyone would ever want to look at, but here is the highlight reel.

It all began with a trip to the storage room at Blue Ocean Traders, where Amanda and Jason were storing all their props and furniture for the wedding.  Blue Ocean Traders is an antiques and reproductions wholesaler located here in Louisville.  Amanda owns one of my favorite boutiques in New Albany, Dress & Dwell.  Between the two of them, the taste level for this wedding was beyond.  They packed up tables and chairs and chandeliers and props in a trailer and drove it all down to Charleston.  I can't wait to share Whitney's images with you!!!

Our cute VRBO house was on Cannon Street.  Such a perfect location! And the perfect amount of space for me to work out of!

Whitney's sister Taylor (my soon to be sister-in-law!) got to join us as our assistant for the weekend! She was such a rockstar.  Couldn't have done it without her!

The wedding was at Boone Hall Plantation.  It was a stunning venue, right on the water.  The trees! That giant oak lined driveway was absolutely breathtaking.  And Amanda, jeeze, she was just as beautiful!  The ceremony was right in front of the house on the property and the reception on the Cotton Dock.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know Chris and I head to Krispy Kreme for donuts before or after cleaning up an event.  Since Chris wasn't with us, Whitney and I celebrated in the best way we knew how- me with ice cream and her with beer.

We stopped RiverOaks Charleston while we were in town.  I've been following them on Instagram for a while and to see it in person was awe inspiring.  What a stunning venue, and run by the most hospitable of people!

Sugar Bake Shop is the most amazing thing I have ever smelled or tasted in my life.  And they have coffee ice cubes.

Oh, Charleston, you are just so pretty!

One more stop at the beach before we headed out.  Goodness, I can't wait to go back!!
