It's been a bit since I've blogged. Exactly a month, actually! I'm not a big blogger so when I finally do sit down to do this, I want it to be a substantial post. I came across a post from the wedding blog Every Last Detail today and think it's beneficial to share with you guys. The blogger did a study on how much an average weddings costs taking into consideration the top 10 components of the event. I actually do find this to be pretty accurate, especially if you are wanting to hire someone (like me!) to do design. Only thing that seems high, at least for Kentucky wedding venues, is the venue pricing. While she doesn't say how large of a wedding this is based on, from my experience it seems to be based off an event of around 200-250 people. When people inquire about my services, one of the first things they ask about is pricing. It's a very hard thing for me to figure out right off the bat without knowing all the elements of the event- the amount of people, the venue, the style, the kind of flowers the bride wants, the season, the colors....the list goes on and on. So if you inquired and I responded with something like 'Every wedding is different so your pricing will be as well' that is why! I'm not trying to hide anything from you by not posting pricing on my website- it is truly because I do not know!
Check out this diagram below- for new brides, this is really good resource for you so you know what you are getting into! And remember, this was a national study and these are all average numbers. Click here to check out the rest of the post- it's pretty educational and it will probably answer a lot of questions you might have!
