A Quick Trip to Qatar

Lol, yes, a quick trip to Qatar. It was actually a 15 or so hour nighttime layover, however, it was one of those memories that last forever. I read online that the Doha airport offers tours of the city where they make it really easy to quickly go through customs and come right back in. I don’t know a lot about the country of Qatar itself, but I’m Arab, so just being in an Arab country was really exciting to me! After convincing Amanda to leave the airport and venture into an Arab city at 9pm, we jumped on the tour bus and headed out. They had mammool cookies -a treat my mom always makes - in each of our bus seats!

The tour lasted a couple hours and took us through their main city center, their harbor.

Our FAVORITE stop was the Souq Waqif - their open air market. We only had 30 minutes to run through it, but we grab kabobs and hummus, dried herbs, dried roses (which I intend to infuse in oil…) and some little trinkets.
