Imagine you’re on a trip in a place you’ve never been before. You walk into the property hoping to sense a feeling of home - it doesn’t look like home, but it’s comfortable like home. You can tell a little bit of thought was put into the things surrounding you - the dish soap, the robes laid out for you, slippers, scented candles…all the things that make the little moments into the big memory of your time away. My strongest memory of something like this was the candle in our hotel in Florence - it was moody, a tad curious, feminine and a touch spicy - very similar to how the hotel and the city felt to us. To remember this trip, I had six of these candles shipped home to us.
Over the last year, many of my guests have requested to buy and take home my custom candles, the waffle knit robes and body wash from Flamingo Estate. This year, I’ve expanded the concept and added to the inventory - dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, decorative candles, art, linens, robes, scented candles, incense, tea….there’s a little something for everyone to take some inspiration home and integrate it into their life. If you stay at the rental, you scan a QR code directing you straight to the shop and then your order can be delivered to your door! If you are local, you can buy online and pickup at my office or we can ship to you! And soon, very soon, you’ll be able to shop ALL of these items and MORE, in person at Vya, opening October 2023!!! I believe my life’s work is to encourage inspiration in other’s lives and this is just one more way to integrate it through my love of hospitality.

In my work through curating bespoke weddings all over the country, I was able to do a similar thing for my client’s guests. I LOVED creating welcome boxes that would be ready and waiting upon each person’s arrival - it was the very first ‘HOW THOUGHTFUL’ moment of many to come. My mom always created little moments of surprise for me and showing love and hospitality like this was ingrained in me!
